Baseball: Pitcher Kolby Allard’s availability is uncertain

The good news for San Clemente is somehow it has reached this week tied for first place in the Sea View League with Mission Viejo with four games left despite the fact it hasn’t had ace Kolby Allard available since he was sidelined with a stress reaction in his back in March.
It’s still uncertain if Allard will make it back in time for the Division 2 playoffs. Coach Dave Gellatly said Monday that Allard has been cleared to begin workouts.
Allard is a projected first-round draft pick.
San Clemente (19-6, 7-1) will send Andre Pallante to the mound on Wednesday against San Clemente, with Will Tribucher pitching on Friday. Both have pitched well in big games.
Mission Viejo (19-8, 7-1) defeated San Clemente, 3-0, on March 31 behind Patrick Sandoval.
