Baseball: No. 19 seed Chavez reaches Division II championship game
Chavez defeats Franklin, 4-1, in City Division II semifinal

San Fernando Chavez, 1-11 in the East Valley League this season and the No. 19 seed in the City Section Division II playoffs, advanced to the championship game at Dodger Stadium by knocking off Franklin, 4-1, on Tuesday night at the Urban Youth Academy.
Chavez will play top-seeded Lincoln in Saturday’s 10 a.m. final at Dodger Stadium.
Justin Reyes threw a complete game, striking out six and walking one. A four-run fourth inning keyed the win. Mark Padilla had an RBI double and Adam Silva added a two-run double.
