NEWPORT BEACH — Sophomore Amy Matsuoka earned medalist honors with her two-over-par 37 during the Sea Kings’ nonleague match at Newport Beach Country Club on Wednesday.
CdM improved to 5-0.
Alyaa Abdulghany recorded a 40, followed by Karlie Moses (41), Kelley King (43) and Hanna Hogan (45).
The Sea Kings play Woodbridge at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course in Irvine on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.

SANTA ANA — Sophomore Grace Ferrell recorded a three-over-par 39 at Santa Ana Country Club, earning medalist honors in the Sailors’ first win of the season on Wednesday.
Newport Harbor’s Tehya Corona shot a personal-best 43, while Sabrina Weiler had a 53, Madison Fernandez a 54 and Teanna Herrera a 59.
The Sailors (1-3) play Edison in a Sunset League match at Big Canyon Country Club on Thursday at 3 p.m.

Costa Mesa 12, La Quinta 4
COSTA MESA — Junior Quinn Smith led the Mustangs with four goals in the nonleague match at home Wednesday.
Matt Brown added three goals for Mesa (2-1), and fellow junior James Rydjeski made 19 saves in goal.
The Mustangs play host to Orange Lutheran in another nonleague match Thursday at home.

SANTA ANA — Junior Slade Garnett, playing No. 2 singles, won a set for the Eagles in a nonleague match on Wednesday.
Estancia’s No. 1 doubles team of Morgan Miller and Eden Steel picked up a set.
The Eagles (3-3) play at Magnolia on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
