Two top baseball leagues will meet next week when Sunset League teams play the Trinity League in the Sunset/Trinity Baseball Challenge at Orange County Great Park Stadium in Irvine.
This is the fourth year of the event, which features exhibition games.
Fountain Valley plays JSerra at 3 p.m. on Jan. 15, followed by defending Sunset League champion Huntington Beach against Mater Dei at 5:30 p.m. and Edison against Bellflower St. John Bosco at 8 p.m.
Newport Harbor will play defending Trinity League champion Orange Lutheran to kick off action at 3 p.m. on Jan. 16, followed by Los Alamitos against Santa Margarita at 5:30 p.m. Marina plays Servite in the nightcap at 8.
Games will be either seven innings or have a two-hour time limit, whichever comes first, to keep things on schedule.
The games will be played in conjunction with the Ryan Lemmon Foundation this year. There will be a $5 gate fee at Great Park Stadium for adults, which will help with scholarship money for the foundation. Parking will be in lot No. 6.
