The Municipal Water District of Orange County named Robert Hunter the new general manager, according to a statement by the water provider.
Hunter previously worked as the commissioner of the regional water utility in Atlanta and was the vice president for MWH Americas, a company that does water infrastructure consulting, according to the statement.
He will begin the job Sept. 9, replacing interim general manager Karl Seckel. MWDOC spokeswoman Darcy Burke said Seckel will return to his previous position as assistant general manager.
Seckel, a 30-year veteran with MWDOC, replaced former general manager Kevin Hunt after he resigned in February. Hunt was with the company for nine years.
Hunter will be the district’s seventh general manager in its 61-year history.
MWDOC delivers water to 28 agencies in Orange County.
