UC Irvine def. UC Davis
IRVINE — McCall Miller amassed 21 kills and 13 digs to lead the Anteaters to a 28-30, 30-24, 30-19, 30-23 nonconference victory Saturday.
Lauren Kellerman added 20 kills and 13 digs for UCI (5-13). Taryn Robertson contributed 52 assists and Kristin Kelley chipped in with 10 kills.
UC Davis dropped to 2-18.
Fresno Pacific def. Vanguard
FRESNO — Kim Wynn and Heather DeJongh recorded eight kills each in the Lions’ 30-16, 30-14, 27-30, 30-13 Golden State Athletic Conference loss Saturday.
Vanguard, which had won tow in a row, dropped to 10-10, 3-9 in conference.

Southern California Tournament
LOS ANGELES — UC Irvine split its two games, beating UC Santa Barbara and losing to USC, in the Southern California Tournament at USC Saturday.
The 11th-ranked Anteaters opened with an 8-7 win over No. 8 UC Santa Barbara. Freshman Jamie Frank scored the game-winning goal with 2:05 remaining. UCI’s Colin Mello led all scorers with three goals and Jesse Hatch added two.
UCI (6-9) lost to top-ranked USC, 14-3, in the second game, when the Trojans scored the game’s first 10 goals. Curt Melo, Kyle Baxter and Ty Newland scored one goal each.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The UC Irvine women’s cross country team finished 19th and the Anteaters men came in 30th Saturday.
Stanford won the women’s competition and Colorado captured the men’s title.
UCI sophomore Laura Olvera finished 22nd of 245 runners with a time of 20 minutes, 42.2 seconds on the 6,000-meter course. Junior Sara Mickelson was 30th in 20:50.9. Marie Nguyen finished 84th (21:32.8), Erinn Kim was 178th (22:25.1), Samantha Costantini 191st (22:35.9), Amber Gordon was 195th (22:40.1).
UCI senior Ricky Barnes finished 29th in the 243-runner field with a time of 24:11.6 on the 8,000-meter course.
MEN’S SOCCER
Vanguard 2, Biola 1 OT
COSTA MESA — Dane Gallion, a Lions substitute, scored the game-winning goal in overtime in the Golden State Athletic Conference match Saturday.
Gallion also assisted on Darin Devore’s goal in the 65th minute that helped the No. 4-ranked Lions overcome a 1-0, first-half deficit.
William Johnson had three saves for Vanguard.
The Lions (10-2-1, 4-1-1 in conference) took sole possession of second in the GSAC. Concordia, which defeated Hope International, 5-0, remains in first.
Biola dropped to 8-3, 4-2.

COSTA MESA — Biola’s Kahlie Reinecke scored the game-winning goal six minutes into the first overtime to give the Eagles’ the upset win on Saturday.
Heather Hutton scored for the No. 21-ranked Lions (8-3-2, 2-3-1 in conference).
