The parts of ART

Good things happen when artists start working together.

This month, the Subject Matter gallery at the Lab is hosting a collaborative art show with 68 artists who worked in groups of two or more.

Dubbed “Collabro,” the show is an extension of the increasing popularity of urban art, a movement focusing on graffiti, graphic design and public displays as forms of self-expression.

Like a mural created by several artists, “Collabro” allows multiple artists to create pieces that are more than the sum of their parts.

Curator Dana Jazayeri calls the approach “ego share,” a testament to personality and cooperation.
