Laguna’s softball season starts

The Laguna Beach softball team will take its first swing at the 2006 season Saturday when the Breakers open play in the Estancia Tournament.
Below is a capsule look at the Breakers, who will be under the guidance of first-year Coach Megan Kee, who led the Laguna junior varsity squad last year.

Outlook: “This year’s team has a combination of solid pitching and strong baserunning that these girls can take as far as they want to,” Yee said. “They haven’t had a winning record in the past but I have every confidence that we can and will make it to the playoffs this year.”
