the year as changes are approved by the board, officials said.
ISSUE: OAK VIEW RESTROOMS

Summary: Oak View Elementary School will get three portable classrooms.
With the increase to eight buildings, the board approved a permanent
restroom building, which will cost $98,000. The money will come from the
special reserve fund.
ISSUE: LEASE INCOME

Summary: The board approved a report regarding lease money. The lease
income from the 1999-2000 year totaled a little more than $1 million,
plus $5,234 for sanitation fee reimbursement. The revenue will be used to

provide long-term facility upgrades, district officials said.
ISSUE: TEXTBOOKS
Vote: 5-0
Summary: The board approved new social science and history textbooks to
coordinate with a new instructional program. The projected cost of
$427,539 will be paid for by the Governor’s Instructional Material Funds.
ISSUE: BOUNDARIES
Vote: NoneSummary: The district is considering whether to place the
vacant land south of Los Patos Avenue, beginning west of Warner Avenue
and ending east of Graham Street, in the boundaries of Hope View
Elementary and Mesa View Middle schools. The boundary changes would
alleviate the enrollment at Harbour View Elementary and Marine View
Middle schools. A pubic hearing on the matter will be opened at the next
regular board meeting, July 5.
