The Fountain Valley City Council came one step closer to resolving the
issue of recreational vehicle parking on city streets.
A committee of 10 people -- five RV owners and five nonowners -- was
announced at Tuesday’s council meeting.
The Recreational Vehicle Ad Hoc Committee’s purpose will be to develop a
workable compromise between proponents and opponents of RV parking on
city streets. Under city law, RVs must be moved every 72 hours. However,
detractors say the law is seldom enforced.
The council appointed Lourdes Peterson, Craig Ivester, Steve Pavich,
Keith Haney, Virgil George, Leston Trueblood, Heather Davison, Ken
Witthoff, Bob Moss and Shirley Keys as members of the new committee.
