COSTA MESA - After a heartbreaking 6-5 loss to College of the
Canyons, the Orange Coast College baseball team rebounded with a 4-3 win
over Treasure Valley in Saturday’s action of the Cy-Coast Classic.
Orange Coast rallied from a 5-1 deficit to tie the game with a four-run
seventh inning, but a solo home run by Steve Lombardi gave Canyons the
lead for good.
Nick Orlandos and Adam Anderson each had two hits and two RBIs for OCC.
In game two, Matt Canada threw seven strong innings for the win, allowing
only four hits and one earned run, while striking out seven.
Drew Parkin collected his third save of the season for the Pirates (4-6),
while Brian Wahlbrink and Jason Reuss each went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Wahlbrink had a solo home run in both games and turned in several long
catches in center field for OCC.
The Pirates will host Mt. San Antonio College Wednesday at 2 p.m. in a
rematch of last year’s Southern California Regionals.
