An overturned big rig is expected to snarl traffic on the 10 Freeway in Mid-City for hours after it crashed into a center divider Friday morning, shutting down several lanes in both directions.
A SigAlert was issued after the remnants of the crash spilled onto four lanes of the eastbound 10 Freeway and one westbound lane near South La Brea Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A large construction truck with a trailer carrying a Bobcat loader was traveling west on the 10 Freeway about 5:33 a.m. and crashed into the concrete barrier, the CHP reported.
The big rig overturned and came to a rest on the eastbound lanes while the trailer landed on the freeway’s westbound lanes.
According to the CHP, the driver suffered minor injuries.
The freeway is expected to be closed for several hours as CHP investigates the crash and crews remove debris from the road.
