Fleetwood Taps Retired Exec for Housing Unit

Moving ahead with its turnaround strategy, Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. tapped a retired executive to help right the Riverside-based company’s manufactured-housing business.
Charley Lott is the second retired manager to return to the company in less than two months. In March, Fleetwood recalled from retirement longtime employee Elden Smith to take over as chief executive.
Lott, who retired in 2002 after 32 years with Fleetwood, will be in charge of the company’s housing unit, which has been losing sales and posted an operating loss in the most recent quarter.
