Police were looking Sunday afternoon for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian, authorities said.
The victim, an unidentified transient, was hit about 12:30 p.m. by a black Toyota 4Runner as he crossed Euclid Street south of Ball Road, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez. A witness said the Toyota driver got out of his car and checked it for damage before driving away, Martinez said.
The vehicle was found abandoned in Garden Grove about 20 minutes after the accident.
