Community College Roundup : Fullerton Handles L.A. Valley, 12-4

Fullerton College defeated Los Angeles Valley, 12-4, in a nonconference baseball game Friday at L.A. Valley. Scott Einhorn went 4 for 4 with three RBIs and three runs scored to lead Fullerton (9-2-1), which scored 11 times in the first six innings.
L.A. Valley (3-7) was held to a pair of hits by winning pitcher Mark Kiefer (4-0), who struck out eight batters in six innings.
Jeff Repoz and Jerry Canada each went 2 for 2, each hit a home run and each had two RBIs for Fullerton. Jose Banuelos (0-1) took the loss for L.A. Valley, which gave up 17 hits.
In nonconference men’s swimming:
Golden West 119.5, Santa Monica 105.5, Saddleback 71--Golden West led throughout at Golden West despite the performance of Saddleback’s Joel Bussard, who won the 400-yard individual medley (4:15.24) and the 1,650 freestyle (16:12.10) with times that qualified for the state championships.
In nonconference women’s swimming:
Golden West 100, Santa Monica 88, Saddleback 8--Golden West kept Santa Monica from coming back by winning the 400 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay with state championship qualifying times (4:22.50 and 3:52.02).
Kris Takayama won the 100 backstroke (106.33), the 50 butterfly (28.47) and finished third in the 100 individual medley (105.85).
