JERUSALEM — A verdict in the case of alleged Israeli nuclear spy Mordechai Vanunu will be announced on March 24 by a Jerusalem District Court, a Justice Ministry spokesman said Friday.
Vanunu, 33, is a former nuclear technician accused of treason and spying for telling a British newspaper that Israel had produced atomic warheads for 20 years.
The spokesman said a three-judge court will hand down a verdict at a closed-door session March 24.
The London Sunday Times said--based on information provided by Vanunu--that Israel is the world’s sixth-largest nuclear power.
