DHAKA, Bangladesh — Giant hailstones weighing up to 11 pounds battered villages in northern Bangladesh, killing a man and injuring 30 other people, officials said Thursday. The strong winds of the hailstorm flattened houses and damaged crops in the Nilphamari district.
