Definition of Islamic Jihad
Jihad or holy war is never against a faith. It is against anyone who subverts Islamic faith, principles or properties. The Palestinian struggle is not religious, it is nationalistic. It has the support of the Palestinian Christians as well as nonbelievers. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is only 40 years old, but Judeo-Christian animosity goes back to the time of Jesus Christ. After Israeli military assault on the worshipers in the holy mosque, even a jihad would not seem too inappropriate.
Bullets, bulldozers, big talks or small stones will not solve the problem. What is required is a means by which both Jews and Palestinians can coexist in the same Holy Land with equal rights and opportunities. What is important is a desire by both sides to share the same land with a spirit of love, peace and cooperation.
