Compton : Weekly Stops Publication

The Compton Herald American, a weekly newspaper that also served Lynwood, halted publication last week after 67 years in business. In a prepared statement, Joe McAdams, executive vice president of the paper’s parent firm Community Media Enterprises, said: “We have decided to suspend publication of the Herald American due to overall economic conditions in the area. These conditions have caused a downward trend in advertising revenue, which has made continuing publication unfeasible.”
