NBC President Robert Wright said NBC is unlikely to sell programming to Turner Broadcasting System’s proposed new cable network, Turner Network Television, unless NBC owned a portion of the parent company. Last year, NBC and TBS discussed the possibility of NBC taking part ownership of Atlanta-based TBS. But the companies announced in mid-January that the talks had been halted. “We could be very interested in selling programming to it, but I just don’t see that happening,” Wright said after speaking to a civic group in Atlanta. TBS is hoping to launch the new cable network in July.
