SATURDAY
‘THE SELLING OF NODDY’ Goodson, 7:30 pm.
The “feel good” film of BritFest. A documentary of the recent attempt to market Enid Blyton’s beloved children’s book character Noddy in the United States and the even more bizarre story of the late, prolific author’s life (she wrote more than 700 books). The juxtaposition between the two threads is hilariously, if unintentionally, funny. It’s easy to imagine the effort as a gigantic hoax concocted by Monty Python, but it’s all true and told with delicious dead-pan seriousness.
