Lovesick Chimp Chump Without Movie Ticket

BELGRADE — A 12-year-old chimpanzee looking for a girlfriend was captured as he tried to enter a Belgrade movie theater without a ticket, Tanjug news agency said today.
The chimp Sammy broke out of his centrally heated cage in Belgrade Zoo Sunday and braved the wintry evening cold. He went window shopping, uttering his mating call, before strolling into the theater, where he was captured by traffic police at the door. Chimpanzees cost about $10,000, and the zoo said it cannot afford to buy Sammy a companion.
