Praising ‘The Dead’

Thank you, Barry Weiss, for expressing your unenlightened opinion that John Huston’s “The Dead” is “an uninvolving, lethal bore” (Calendar Letters, Feb. 14).

You have succeeded in reaffirming the beliefs of many motion picture executives who think the American public is too ignorant to appreciate anything more challenging than “Rambo,” “Porky’s” or “Nightmare on Elm Street.”
