1-A Soccer : Playoffs : Orange Lutheran Tops La Sierra, 2-1

Scott Runyan and Oren Beske scored goals to lead Orange Lutheran High School to a 2-1 victory over La Sierra in a first-round match of the Southern Section 1-A boys’ soccer playoffs Friday at Orange Lutheran.
Runyan scored on a breakaway, 15 minutes into the first half, to give Orange Lutheran (11-5-3) a 1-0 lead. It was Runyan’s 23rd goal of the season, setting a school single-season scoring record.
Beske scored on an indirect kick from the top of the penalty box 30 minutes into the first half to give Orange Lutheran a 2-0 lead.
La Sierra (13-5-3) scored with three minutes left in the game on a goal by Francisco Duenas.
Orange Lutheran goalie Sean Kennedy had eight saves. La Sierra goalie Rob Zurick had 17 saves.
