Many Americans believe that Japanese goods are made better than U.S. products but still favor tougher trade restrictions to ensure that jobs are not lost due to foreign imports, a Gallup poll found. Fifty-four percent of those surveyed also believe that Japanese trade policies are unjust. The poll found that 39% of those questioned said the trade policies of Taiwan and South Korea were unfair and 35% disagreed with Hong Kong’s actions.
