College Softball : Cal State Fullerton Sweeps USIU

The Cal State Fullerton softball team opened the season with a doubleheader sweep of U.S. International University Saturday at Cal State Fullerton.
Fullerton won the first game, 4-3, in 12 innings, and the second, 1-0.
Freshman Yvette Hernandez singled to score Carey Hess to win the first game.
Jackie Pittman pitched a two-hit shutout in her first collegiate start. The only run of the game scored when Kristine Glomboske singled home Hess in the third.
