WCAC Roundup : Portland Is No Match for St. Mary’s

Robert Haugen scored 23 points to lead St. Mary’s to an 86-70 victory over Portland Saturday night in a West Coast Athletic Conference game at Moraga.
Erick Newman scored 18 points, Al Lewis had 17 and Keith Martin added 11 for St. Mary’s (15-6 overall, 7-3 in the WCAC).
Adam Simmons scored 16 points for Portland (6-17, 1-9).
Gonzaga 78, San Diego 73--Doug Spradley scored 27 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Toreros at San Diego.
The Bulldogs (12-11, 3-7) made 39 of 54 free throws, and San Diego hit on just 12 of 24.
John Sayers scored 19 points for the Toreros (10-13, 2-8).
