Jetliner Lands Safely After Geese Encounter

KANSAS CITY — A Northwest Airlines jet returned to Kansas City International Airport safely following a collision with two geese shortly after takeoff, a tower official said.
The DC-9 hit the geese last week after reaching an altitude of 200 feet, said Ivan Hunt, manager of the KCI control tower. No one was hurt, he said.
