General Automation, Anaheim, said it lost $645,000 during its fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31. The company attributed the loss to difficulties with its Parallel Computers subsidiary and overseas operations. The company reported a net loss of $10,000 for the same quarter a year ago. Revenue rose to $13.3 million in the most recent period, a 46% increase from $9.1 million a year earlier. For the first half, the company lost $1.6 million, compared to net income of $366,000 a year earlier. Sales rose to $23.5 million from $18.9 million. Leonard MacKenzie, General Automation’s chairman, said business costs increased as a result of the company’s acquisitions of Parallel Computers and Aston Technology.
