Green’s 21 Points Lead Rancho Alamitos, 70-65

Sophomore center David Green scored a career-high 21 points to lead Rancho Alamitos High School to a 70-65 victory over Bolsa Grande Thursday in a Garden Grove League boys’ basketball game at Rancho Alamitos.
Green was 6 of 8 from the field and 9 of 12 on free throws. Green started the season on the junior varsity but came up to the varsity 10 games ago.
Rancho Alamitos (8-11, 7-5) opened a 22-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. But Joe Small led Bolsa Grande back in the third quarter with 10 of his game-high 27 points. Bolsa Grande took a 53-52 lead in the middle of the third quarter, but Rancho Alamitos recovered and led, 51-48, at the end of three quarters.
Gary Lira added 17 points and Kevin Webster 11 for Rancho Alamitos. Bolsa Grande is 14-8, 7-5.
