Bus Carrying Wedding Party Crashes, 45 Die

JABALPUR, India — A bus carrying a group to a wedding plunged into a swirling river, drowning 45 people including the bridegroom and 21 members of his family, officials said Thursday.
Officials said the accident occurred late Wednesday near Narayangunj village, about 35 miles east of Jabalpur, when a broken drain spewed water across the road, causing the bus to skid and plummet into the adjacent Balai River.
