QE2 Passengers

I was amused to read about the search of 1,265 passengers disembarking from the Queen Elizabeth 2 which yielded one gram of marijuana (Part I, Jan. 28). I think it only fair that the affluent should experience their President’s policies in action--after all, they put him in office.
Unfortunately, minorities and the poor suffer more than a few hours of inconvenience.
One person welcomed the search, however, as necessary “to secure our border.” Run that by me again. (We know he voted for Reagan!)
Meanwhile, we are cutting our aid to El Salvador by 10% this year in retaliation for officials there releasing three prisoners who had shot to death four U.S. Marines.
Boy, I guess we showed them what tough is!
