The Board of Supervisors has approved an agreement with Glendale and La Canada Flintridge for continuation of transit service for the elderly and handicapped residents living in the unincorporated La Crescenta and Montrose areas.
Under the agreement, Los Angeles County will continue to finance the $58,000 project--which has been in operation since July 1, 1986--with Proposition A sales tax funds through Nov. 30. The service will continue to operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on Thanksgiving.
Those needing a ride should call for a reservation 24 hours in advance; same-day service is provided subject to availability. Lift-equipped vehicles will be provided. The fare will continue to be 75 cents one way. No fare will be charged to qualified escorts of handicapped riders.
