Two teen-agers were killed in separate gang-related shootings in Compton and Wilmington, authorities said Tuesday.
Jesus Garcia, 16, of Lynwood, was found in a parking lot at Long Beach Boulevard and Orchard Avenue about 2:10 p.m. Monday, his body and legs riddled with gunshots, Compton police said. Los Angeles County sheriff’s investigators, who are handling the case, say they have several strong leads.
In a separate incident, Jaime Serrano Gama, 14, died Tuesday afternoon from a bullet wound to the head that he received in a shooting about 9:35 p.m. Monday in Wilmington, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Jerry Jelnic said.
“A suspect in a passing car fired into a group of male youths standing near a gang hangout in the 900 block of Neptune Avenue,” Jelnic said.
