Valhalla Is Newcomer to Boys’ Top 10

SAN DIEGO — Valhalla High School, with a pair of victories last week, moved into The Times’ San Diego high school boys’ basketball Top 10.
Valhalla (12-5), ranked ninth, is the only newcomer to the poll this week. Torrey Pines, which improved to 22-0 with a victory over Orange Glen Friday, remained the county’s top-ranked team.
Poway, which won both its games last week, moved from sixth to fourth, trading placing with Kearny.
