Capistrano Valley Keeps Its Place at Top of Poll

Capistrano Valley and Santa Ana high schools remained the top two teams in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep basketball poll with surprising Tustin moving into third.
Mater Dei, ranked third last week, dropped to fourth after losing to Ocean View, 79-58. It was the Monarchs’ sixth loss this season, equaling the school’s total number of losses during the previous five seasons.
In the featured game of the week, Tustin plays host to fifth-ranked Saddleback at 7:30 Friday night for the Sea View League title.
