Local News in Brief : Man Found Dead in Back Yard in Newhall

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of a man who was apparently beaten to death Monday in a back yard in Newhall, authorities said.
The man, who has not been identified, was found at 3 a.m. behind a house in the 24000 block of Newhall Avenue when deputies were dispatched to investigate a report of a fight. The deputies found several people at the home, including two men with blood on them, officials said. Then they found the body lying in the yard. Officials said the man appeared to have died from a blow to the head.
Deputies said several people at the home were questioned about the killing, but no one had been arrested by late Monday.
