The City Council on Monday night named George Tindall to serve as interim city manager while a search continues for a successor to Delbert Powers.
Tindall, 44, has been an assistant city manager for the past four years. Powers, 51, has announced his resignation effective April 1, ending 25 years of service with the city, including the last eight as city manager.
The council, meeting in closed executive session, also named Pat Oportuna, currently the city’s director of economic development, to serve as interim assistant city manager.
The council also named Stuart B. Scudder, the present assistant city attorney, to serve as interim city attorney, effective April 1.
Scudder will replace Eric Lauterer, who was fired last week by the council.
Lauterer, 52, had served as city attorney for the past 17 years.
