Foodmaker Inc., the San Diego-based parent of Jack in the Box restaurants, said Monday it has acquired 13 Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers outlets in Hawaii for $9 million. A recent acquisition of an Arby’s roast beef restaurant in Hawaii brings total Jack in the Box locations in the state to 35, the second-largest total in Hawaii among fast-food chains.
Before the acquisitions, the systemwide total of Jack in the Boxes was 900. Of those, about 630 are company owned with the remainder franchises.
