ALGIERS, Algeria — Polisario guerrillas said Sunday they killed or wounded 180 Moroccan soldiers in the Oum Dreiga area of the disputed Western Sahara.
A Polisario communique issued through the official Algerian news agency APS said 18 Moroccan soldiers were captured in the three-hour battle Saturday and others were chased deep into Moroccan territory.
The communique, which gave no Polisario losses, said military equipment and three ammunition depots were destroyed and a large amount of weapons seized.
