Five pitchers from the Southern California-laden Milwaukee Brewers combined on a three-hit shutout during a 6-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Monday at Blair Field in the Area Code Games.
Marina right-hander Trevor Megill and Lakewood’s Shane Watson were among the quintet who baffled the Reds, with Megill striking out two of the three batters he faced during a perfect inning and Watson completing a scoreless inning.
Edison’s Timothy Lopes singled twice and drove in a pair of runs and South Hills’ C.J. Saylor had an RBI double. Lakewood’s J.P. Crawford singled, reached on an error and scored a pair of runs.
The Brewers improved to 2-1.
