Inglewood is 7-2 overall, 4-0 in the Ocean League and headed to a league championship under first-year Coach Stephen Thomas.
One reason is the play of junior Derrick Woods, a receiver-defensive back who is used all over the field. He has scored touchdowns as a receiver, running back, quarterback, punt returner, kickoff returner and defensive back. He had five touchdowns out of the wildcat formation against Culver City.
Another standout is senior receiver-defensive back Patrick Onwuasor.
Asked about winning a league title, Thomas said, ‘It’s pretty spectacular for our kids.’
