While its principle intent remains programming future roots Internet radio, Dublab has never shied away from embracing multimedia art. So it’s little surprise that one of their more recent programs, the VisionVersion series, has yielded a cornucopia of beautifully surreal clips.
Framing artists in unorthodox and compelling locales ranging from the Museum of Neon Art to downtown’s Clifton Cafeteria, the series has snared well-known local participants like Daedelus, Ariel Pink, Health and Why? The latest juxtaposition takes the LA Ladies Choir to the Sea Nymph Installation at Machine Project.
And those looking to hang with dublab and their friends at Mochilla should know about this party at Leavitt Pavilion in MacArthur Park on Saturday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Called ‘Heating Up: A Tropical Dance Party,’ the event will feature DJs, performances and a ‘special guest.)
