A recent poll by The Times and the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences shows that Californians are far more concerned about the dismal economy than crime and overcrowding in prisons. Some might say all three issues fit under one umbrella. Others might take it further and ask, How can we merge these issues into one so that we can find one mutually beneficial solution? Then there’s cartoonist Ted Rall’s take:
